Heroic protagonists, who mature through their own unique stories as they traverse life’s obstacles, inspire me.  Investigating identity can be vexing; however, the pursuit to understand one’s self is equally cathartic and potentially rewarding. Photography entices me to point a lens at myself.  Sometimes the lens is directed towards my own body, and other times identity is explored through environments, objects, family and friends.  The home functions as a psychological space in which heroes navigate through the mind in an attempt to understand their being.  Who am I?  Is there anything that is innately me? Perhaps, the conflicting ideologies presented to society through popular culture, religion, and secular literature offer so many diverging opinions that there is no possibility of reconciliation—only questions.
